What the city's own crash numbers say about Beverly Hills
The City of Beverly Hills updated its Local Road Safety Plan in March 2026. It counted 2,624 reported collisions between 2017 and 2022. Of those, 2,401 involved injuries, and 52 were fatal or severe-injury crashes. Seven of those were fatal. Almost half of the fatal and severe-injury crashes, 46 percent, involved someone walking or biking. The California Office of Traffic Safety ranks cities of similar size, and rank 1 means worst. In its 2023 table, Beverly Hills ranked 1 of 93 for total people killed and injured, with 611 victims. It also ranked 1 of 93 for pedestrian victims and 1 of 93 for motorcycle victims, and 7 of 93 for hit-and-run collisions. About 33,000 people live here, yet the plan says 150,000 to 200,000 people are in town on a normal day. Shoppers, hotel guests, diners and commuters all squeeze onto a small grid of streets. If an insurance company calls your crash routine, point to those numbers. Crashes here hurt people, and the injuries are often serious.

No freeway access, so every trip runs on a few boulevards
The city safety plan notes that Beverly Hills has no direct access to the Interstate Highway System. Every trip through town runs on local streets, and the traffic funnels onto a handful of arterials. Wilshire Boulevard had the most collisions of any street in the plan's crash-rate table, 359 over six years, on about 38,500 vehicles a day. North Santa Monica Boulevard had the highest weighted crash rate of any street. Olympic Boulevard logged 302 collisions, and the plan notes a pattern of fatal and severe-injury crashes on Olympic and North Santa Monica. At the intersection level, Canon Dr and North Santa Monica Boulevard had the highest weighted crash rate, followed by Clifton Way and La Cienega Boulevard, Rexford Dr and North Santa Monica, Wilshire and North Santa Monica, and Wilshire and South Santa Monica. The Wilshire and North Santa Monica corner sees about 90,400 vehicles a day. Sunset Boulevard, Robertson Boulevard, Burton Way and the canyon roads feed the same grid. If your crash happened at one of these spots, tell Moe the exact corner. He can then find camera footage and witnesses before they vanish.
Getting your Beverly Hills police report and handling the first days
The Beverly Hills Police Department writes the report for crashes inside city limits. Its station and Records Bureau sit at 464 N. Rexford Dr. The city's Traffic Collision Reports page says you can buy a copy of a collision report online through LexisNexis. Other police reports go through the Records Bureau, which the city lists as open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. The city's pages list two phone numbers, 310-285-2187 and 310-285-2184, so try both. A crash on a state road or in the City of Los Angeles may be handled by CHP or LAPD instead. After a crash with injury or more than $1,000 in damage, a driver must also file an SR-1 report with the DMV within 10 days (Vehicle Code 16000). See a doctor even if you feel okay. Photograph the scene and the plates. Do not give the other insurer a recorded statement before you talk to a lawyer. Call Moe. He will tell you what to send, what to hold back, and who should talk to the adjuster.

Walkers, riders and cyclists in the city that ranks worst for them
Beverly Hills ranked 1 of 93 comparable cities in 2023 for pedestrian victims, with 46 people hurt or killed on foot, and 1 of 93 for pedestrians aged 65 and older. It ranked 1 of 93 for motorcycle victims, with 38, and 7 of 93 for bicyclist victims. In 2022 it ranked 1 of 90 for bicyclist victims. The safety plan says pedestrian collisions concentrate along North Santa Monica Boulevard and that the city's highest concentration of bicycle collisions sits on that same regional bikeway corridor. California law says a driver must yield to a person in a marked crosswalk, or an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, and must use due care around anyone on the road (Vehicle Code 21950 and 21954). Insurers still blame the walker or rider for crossing mid-block, wearing dark clothes or riding in the lane. California follows pure comparative negligence, so partial fault reduces your award but does not erase it. Moe tells the other side of that story with video, witness names and your medical record.
Cedars-Sinai, Metro and rideshare: how people reach the ER and the claim
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, at 8700 Beverly Blvd just outside the city, is a Level I adult trauma center, first designated in 1984. If an ambulance takes you there after a Beverly Hills crash, your medical record starts in that emergency department. Keep every bill, discharge sheet and follow-up note. The insurer will read each one closely. Many people reach Beverly Hills by app. If an Uber or Lyft crash hurt you, the coverage depends on what the driver's app was doing. Once a ride is accepted and until it ends, California requires $1,000,000 in coverage for death, injury and property damage (Public Utilities Code 5433). Metro also runs through town. The D Line subway has a Wilshire and La Cienega station, the Beverly Dr station is under construction and scheduled for Spring 2027, and Metro Line 720 runs along Wilshire Boulevard. A crash with a Metro bus is a public-entity claim with its own short deadline, covered in the next section.
Claims against the city, the court that hears your case, and deadlines
You generally have two years to sue a private driver for injuries (Code of Civil Procedure 335.1). If a city, county or state agency may be at fault, you must first present a written claim within six months (Government Code 911.2). For the City of Beverly Hills, that claim goes to the City Clerk's Office at 455 N. Rexford Dr., Room 290, and the city's claim form says personal injury claims are due within six months. If the city rejects the claim in writing, you have six months from that notice to file suit (Government Code 945.6). A crash on a state highway, or on City of Los Angeles or county property, needs a claim with that agency instead. The Beverly Hills Courthouse at 9355 Burton Way handles small claims, but under Los Angeles Superior Court Local Rule 2.3, unlimited civil injury suits, including motor vehicle cases, are filed in the Central District, which for a Beverly Hills crash means the Stanley Mosk Courthouse downtown. Moe's office is at 527 W 7th St, a short ride from there. Miss a deadline and your case can end. Call early.
Car, motorcycle, hit-and-run and drunk-driving cases, and how Moe handles them
Moe Abdallah Law, P.C. takes motor-vehicle injury cases only. That covers car, motorcycle, pedestrian, bicycle, Uber and Lyft, bus, hit-and-run and uninsured motorist crashes, plus wrongful death and brain injury that come from a crash. When a driver flees, your own uninsured motorist coverage may pay for your injuries, but only if the fleeing vehicle made contact, you report the crash to police within 24 hours and file a sworn statement with your insurer within 30 days (Insurance Code 11580.2). Beverly Hills ranked 2 of 93 for alcohol-involved victims in 2023, and a drunk driver may face punitive damages in a civil case when conscious disregard for safety is proven (Civil Code 3294). Moe's past results include $105,000 for an uninsured client with a broken sternum, a $100,000 policy-limit recovery for a rear-ended woman whose driver fled, and $75,000 after an insurer offered $900. Past results do not promise a similar outcome. He answers the phone himself, updates you by call and text, and moves on evidence fast. The review is free, and you pay nothing unless he wins.

Sometimes. A city is liable for a dangerous condition of its property only when specific legal elements are proven (Government Code 835). You must file a written claim with the City Clerk within six months of the injury (Government Code 911.2). Missing that window can end the case, so contact a lawyer quickly.
It depends on the app. From the moment a driver accepts your ride until it ends, California requires $1,000,000 in coverage for death, injury and property damage (Public Utilities Code 5433). With the app off, the driver's own policy applies. Do not talk to the rideshare insurer before you speak with Moe.
Usually two years from the crash to sue a private driver (Code of Civil Procedure 335.1). If a public entity may be at fault, you must present a written claim within six months, then sue within six months of a written rejection. Property damage has three years (Code of Civil Procedure 338).
